Regional Sales Manager (Southeast)

Job Purpose/Summary

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and achieving the sales objectives for the South East region (Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C.). The position implements the correct staffing levels to meet sales objectives and customer service requirements. In collaboration with corporate specialists, The Regional Sales Manager monitors and enforces compliance and quality system requirements, and other company policies to ensure legal operation of the company business.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with executive management to define strategic sales objectives
  • Meet financial objective through forecasting and preparation of annual budgets to include sales and scheduled expense by region and territory
  • Monitor and report sales results; analyze variances and develop action plans for corrective action
  • Identify hire, train and manage Territory Managers
  • Complete performance evaluations and provide feedback; collaborate with HR to address performance issues and employee discipline
  • Maintain and expand customer base through interaction with Territory Managers; establish relationships with key customers in each territory
  • Remain current with customer issues and concerns and ensure prompt resolution
  • Collaborate with corporate staff to ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations and policies affecting the sales of pharmaceutical products and medical devices
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors and market activity in region; communicate trends and recommend action to executive management
  • Other duties and projects in support of business growth

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences or related scientific discipline; MBA preferred
  • A minimum of 15 years progressive experience in the sales and marketing of drug product or medical devices
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the management of a sales region or multiple territories
  • Demonstrated success in meeting sales goals
  • Demonstrated written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with core operating functions to resolve issues and meet company objectives
  • Demonstrated project management or product launch experience
