Associate Director of Strategic Accounts

Job Purpose/Summary

Biofrontera, the leading innovator in photodynamic therapy, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Associate Director of Strategic Accounts to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving business growth, expanding market presence, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, including private equity groups. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 15 years of experience in dermatology including at least one role in a buy and bill environment, and with proven success in building relationships and business development with private equity groups, and in managing commercial sales teams. They should also have training experience (for internal or external stakeholders, or both).

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Strategic Account Management: Lead the development and execution of strategic account plans to achieve company sales targets and business objectives across key dermatology organizations.
  • Team Leadership & Management: Work within a matrix structure of accomplished national and regional sales managers, territory representatives, marketing and reimbursement personnel and medical science liaisons, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement to achieve specific corporate objectives. Lead achievement of these objectives on a cross functional basis.
  • Private Equity Contract Negotiation: Coordinate negotiations with private equity groups, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals. Collaborate closely with relevant internal stakeholders to drive successful outcomes in contract discussions.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within private equity groups.
  • Award-Winning Commercial Performance: Leverage extensive commercial experience to drive revenue growth, supporting the achievement of overall corporate sales goals. Utilize a deep understanding of the dermatology market to develop innovative strategies and tactics.
  • Training & Development: Design and deliver training programs for strategic accounts in line with Biofrontera and external stakeholder compliance requirements. Ensure that training initiatives are aligned with company goals and industry best practices.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), influencers, and other key stakeholders in the dermatology field particularly as they relate to strategic accounts, to enhance the company’s reputation and drive product adoption.
  • Travel: Travel frequently (at least 80% of the time, mostly with overnight stays) to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support team members in the field.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in the dermatology industry, with a strong background in strategic account management, business development, KOL management and sales. Buy and bill experience is required. Experience managing or developing a medical practice would be an advantage.
  • Team Management: Proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams, with a focus on achieving results and fostering professional growth.
  • Private Equity Expertise: Demonstrated experience in business development with private equity groups, with a deep understanding of the complexities involved in such negotiations.
  • Sales Achievements: A history of award-winning sales performance, with a proven ability to meet and exceed targets.
  • Market Development: Extensive experience in developing and expanding new markets, with a strategic approach to market entry and growth.
  • Training & Development: Experience in designing and implementing training programs.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
